I'm having trouble burning a PSX game i downloaded. The file pretty much contains a .mdf which is the big file and a .mds, a very small file. Also just like to say that my playstation does run copied games.

I've seen the contents of the .mdf file using isobuster, and i used the .mds in Alcohol 120% to burn it into a cd-r. Although it was a successful burn the game did not work in my Playstation. It doesn't even start.

To help clarify my problem, i've noticed that the PSX game i burned have different layed out contents inside the disc then an ordinary PSX game that works. An ordinary PSX game's contents are more featured out like this:

DATA- folder
FMV- folder
PIX- folder
PIXUS- folder
SLUS_004.37
SYSTEM

The downloaded game's .mdf contents are more like this:

FMV0.FMV
FMV1.FMV

- the list of .FMV files goes on

GAMEWAD
ITALIAN
SCRIPT
SLES_022.41
SYSTEM
XA1.XA
XA10.XA
XA11.XA

- the list of .XA files goes on

Anyone get this noticeable difference. In a downloaded game there are no folders breaking the files up, am i supposed to use a program that automatically lays out the .mdf contents into a correct format. I was expecting an .iso or .bin file from the download, but instead i get .mdf and .mds files instead. Which Alcohol 120% seems to do a good job of burning into disc but not in a playable format recognized by my playstation.

Anyone knows how to burn these files correctly?

I did that already, and it can't play on my Playstation. But all the files are there burned successfully on disc. My guess is that it is the format of the files presented on disc, since the game CD i burned looks different "files-wise" as compared to a PSX game that works on my playstation.

I need someone who has experience with burning PSX data files onto disc and making it work on the playstation to give me advice.

And yes, my playstation is modded to play backups, i don't think my playstation should be of any problem at all with burned games not working on it.
