I currently have RoadRunner along with AOL. AOL's security is very well done, everytime you long on you are assigned a proxy and everytime it is different.

The only problem is when I open up uTorrent or any other BitTorrent client it uses the RoadRunner IP and not the AOL proxy. I was wondering if through the preferences in uTorrent I could route the traffic in uTorrent to go through AOL instead of RoadRunner.

In the preferences under other it says Proxy Server for HTTP Requests and there are many options to choose from (Sock 4, Sock 5, Http Connect, HTTP) along with a Proxy Server [IP:Port]. Again I am just wondering if I can implement the security I have in AOL to uTorrent.

I am aware that if this is possible I will need to be logged on to AOL everytime I download something through uTorrent.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

try the port magic that you get with aol.
the other thing is that with aol the proxy is brower only so that should not be an issue.. then again aol does a lot that it shouldnt (used to work for them before they closed the office in florida)

anther thing that might be messing you up is the firewall that is installed.
check its settings

If....if AOL is using some silly proxy, which is probably transparent, or half-assed, oops sorry my anti-timewarneraolmegatelecommunicationsmononoply angst is kicking in...

Anyway, in proxy settings try:
address: 127.0.0.1
port: 9050
and socks proxy...4a, and if that doesn't work, 5
no password or login.

That's aka "localhost", and it SHOULD be where aol's proxy forwarder sits. You do realize that anonymity on AOL is unrealistic, and that any "proxy" it's sending you to is still registered to AOL, and that if you do anything illegal, AOL will still know who you are and when you did it, right?
