Ok, I have a music video I created. It is 3min long. when I burn it to dvd, it burns just about half the disk.
I created this video in Adobe Premire.
Question:
Is there a certain setting I need to change to burn this at a small data amount, without quality difference?
movie settings:
File type: Quicktime
Compressor: Sorenson Video 3
Frame size 720 x 480
data rate: Recomress: mantain data rate
audio compressor: Uncompressed.

what I just dont get is that full feature movies that are 2 hours long are in great quality, but in order to keep full 720 x 480 frame size, it eats up 2 gigs for a 3min video..

TIA!!!!

ok what program are you using to burn this to DVD? i do alot of A/V editing and my last project was about 7 min long with audio. I render my audio and video as seperate tracks. for two reasons. 1st. it takes less time to render them seperatly. 2 the video looks better and the audio sounds better. and then i use another program to burn them. Anyway this last 7 min project total was 360 mb. All my video is rendered as Mpeg2 Video only (which wont matter to you if you make them the same track) and audio is WMA9. i don't know the compression rates on a quicktime file but i do know that Premire does a good job and makes good DVDS (if you have a hoss machine to run it) depending on what you use to burn it try a differnt video type and see the size difference and try burning it. this might help. there is no reason a 3 min file should take half of a DVD.

hope this helps

I use Premire to do it all. I do render both audio and video together.
but when I burn to dvd I have all my data (auido & video) in my timeline, and just use the setting.. Burn to dvd. I belive it renders itself to dvd format and then burns. I know if I pick a different compressor I will get a lower quality differance.

Is this an issue of the frame size or is there a special program that deals with converting audio/video files into dvd format? With this program that might allow me to lower the data amount while still keeping the quality.. Maybe a point to a good tutorial.. Im lost :( TIA
