I'd like to play Ps2 games online and I have a DSL Modem but it's downstairs I have a wireless card in my cpu that's in the same room as the ps2. I was wondering if there was anyway to play using that connection without running wires from one side the house to the other ? I also have an ethernet card in my cpu. Can someone help please ? I would really like to play.

I hope you meant your PC cos I don't think they make wireless cards quite that small to fit into a CPU...

You'll need to get a wireless router for your PS2, another one for modem, personally I'd just run the ethernet cable, its much cheaper. You could just hide the cable under the carpet or something

I've also heard from my mates that you lose bandwidth using a wireless connection as opposed to running a cable - you might lag when things get hairy dude... I agree with Dan168, running a cables cheaper and chances are your performance will be better.

depends on the router. I have a Linksys router with speedbooster technology. Played online with it and there is no lag at all.
If they have lag then either their routers suck, or it may be that their PC is lacking memory and processor speed.

a crossover cable is surely the cheapest way to go and will work just fine.
A wireless gaming adapter will work if you also buy a wireless router and then you could play on any TV in the house.
And i am not too sure, but isn't a wireless card in a PC just for picking up a wireless signal from a router. I know that is what my Laptop has.

Yeah i think i know what you mean Steimy - you mean a wireless card as in picking up on hotspots at uni or something? So you can connect to the network remotely (wirelessly obviously) right? Perfect for a laptop - I've actually heard Maccas are starting (in Australia anyway) to introduce hotspots to internet connections in their franchise outlets... Perfect for the businessmen who get their daily intake of McSh*t!

At least they are starting to do that there... in New Zealand the only place that I know that have good wireless service is Starbucks, and even they charge an arm and a leg for the connection fee :(

The router has to be connected to the modem by the ethernet cable. Then any machines connect to the router.

if you have a wireless internet connection. Meaning that somewhere in the house you have a wirless router.
The you go out and buy a wireless gameing adapter. which will connect to the woreless modem and then you can play online with no wires, anywhere in the house that you can get a strong signal.

But for the cheapest way you can just get a crossover cable.
crossover cable $12
wireless gaming adapter $100
knowing what the heck your doing.....priceless :)

Yep it is Ravenholm, good eye.
sawblades, pain cans and exploding gas canisters kind of give it away
I am almost sad i finished that game.
