HELP! Guilty Gear XX backup will not work!

I have repeatedly been making costers trying to get the game to work. When i put the game in it shows the ps2 screen, than it picks up the controller and than a black screen and nothing happens. I have a PS2 with the matrix infinity chip in it. The game is NTSC and i'm backing it up from the original and help is GREATLY appreciated for this is my all time favorite game and it just wont work! :(

I'm using Alcohol 120% and i have never had any problems with backups before. This is the only game i can not get to work. Is a rebuild required? Is it copyright protected or something? please help!
