I was recently looking around on filepedia.com and saw a program that looked similar to microsofts anti-spyware application. It was called SpyDefense (http://www.everestlabs.com/antispyware-features/) and it had a lot of the same features as microsofts program. Has anyone heard about this program? If not I'll do a system restore give the program a shot and let you all know how it goes.

dont go for it.

if you want something good/great get spyware doctor from www.pctools.com

i have tested all the top spyware tools and this one is by far the best..
only other one i would advise to use is spysweeper from www.webroot.com its not as good at finding things but if something trys to add to your favs or startup it asks you if its permitted before letting it get on the system

I live my life one warez download at a time.

I do have Webroot SpySweeper and used to have the "scan and remove" only version of Spyware Doctor. But then they stopped letting the free users update and when I emailed them they replied with a insult of a reply so I kindly asked them the question I had in the previous email and they never replied. I sent three more emails but to no avail they never replied. I will never buy a PC Tools product. But what I really wanted to know from people is if anyone had tried this and if so what they thought about it.

@fuggedup

Thanks thats exactly what I needed. I noticed in one post that a person was having problems with it detecting some Norton A-V files as trojans and I had the same problem, except instead of Norton A-V the program was QuickBooks Pro 2006. I think that if they worked out all the bugs were able to have it lose less memory and had a better interface ( its easy but doesnt have enough options ) they would have a decent application.
