Looking for good video editing software.

now im a COMPLETE noob when it comes to video editing, never done it before, hardly even looked at the one that comes with windows. I play a game called world of warcraft ( im sure some of you know about this game :P ) , and people like to make there own videos of the game. Well i have fraps, im able to record, of course it takes a TON of space but i hear theres a way to make it so when you edit it, it takes the amount of space down.

now thats not all i wanna do. I wanna be able to put the vids together, put my own music on it, have cool effects even. And it MUST be very noob friendly and easy to use.

So does anyone reccomend a program for me to use? Preferbly somthing free but if not ... please dont make it TOO expensive , i dont think ill spend more then 20 - 30 bucks.

all you need to do is see if your application can encode in a lower resolution like 800x600 down to 320x240.. this will drop the file size a lot reducing the video by 2.5 (800/2.5 = 320 & 600/2.5 = 240)

for video editing Nero would be a good investment.. im currently using version 7 but 6 might be more to your liking as its much much smaller of an application. and im pretty sure they sell it pretty cheap now since 7 is out.
you can cut/edit/add effects/music/text/ etc.

if you want something more then that might want to check into adobe premier or sony vega.. both are expensive unless you know other ways to get them.. "like my sig says" lol
