No, it's much much much harder to mod. The xboxv1 had USB ports, just a different shape and 1.1 as opposed to 2.0 that is seen on the 360.

You are reading a mindless signature, please stop reading it now it is mindless, one can only presume you are mindless since you are still reading this mindless signature, Oh my god get a life you mindless person, whats the matter with you, dont you have a girlfreind? mindless mindless mindless

You wnat to mod a 360?? even the xperts have got nowhere with the bootloader so far... Patience..Patience..one day it will happen and then I'll go waste a load of money on one too..!!

There isn't anything you can do with the usb apart from plug a pad into it at the moment

Yes, but not fully, unsigned code is still impossible. You can only play copied games, not homebrew such as XBMC. Plus it's harder than hell.

i have read on how to hack and everything. but its just complicated to even understand how?

i just have a basic questions:
after firmware has been hacked is a pc required?
does the xbox 360 drive need to be connected to pc to copy the 360 games?
once the new firmware is up and running and game is backed up, do i simply pop in the copied game and turn on my xbox?
will it just boot like a normal game? or do i need to swap disks etc?

my main aim when i hack is not to really play the copied games, its just to achieve the hack. i have hacked the ps1, ps2, psp. i never had a psp but i still asked my friend if i cud give it a go.

same with the xbox360. i'm waiting for the homebrew games. at the moment i dnt even understand the instructions of hacking the xbox 360.
i guess i have to read slowly, and do everything one step at a time! LOL

after firmware has been hacked is a pc required? A PC is not required to play backups. The 360 can be by itself, But to make backups you need to have a PC.

does the xbox 360 drive need to be connected to pc to copy the 360 games? No, that is 1 way but you can use a dvd-rom drive and swap a big dvd for the game and rip it (search WXRipper Method)

once the new firmware is up and running and game is backed up, do i simply pop in the copied game and turn on my xbox? Yes!

will it just boot like a normal game? or do i need to swap disks etc? It will just boot like a normal game.

Also here is a link to a great guide on how to hack with pictures etc.

I was waiting for somebody to ask that..the dvd drive is locked to the 360, and needs unlocking to rip the firmware..then locking again.. Apparently MS are already scanning for any alteration in the firmware and are ready to ban people.. After all it's copyprotect circumvention, and reverse engineering and is illegal. The knowlegable people say don't risk it, If it can be detected you will stand out like a sore thumb and the powers that be may just decide to see what other illegal software you have in your house.. Is it worth the risk just to make a copy of a game???

The site I moderate on has blocked all threads discussing this firmware hack, and people have been banned for arguing.. The law in the US (and other places) says that copy protection circumvention is illegal and is no less than software theft.. The only use of these hacks is piracy.. just my 50 cents..
