Hi everyone,

I have a problem: I have a repotec RP-IP509 router, and i can't upload files via ftp anymore. I don't know how should i configure the router to work. I've searched the internet, but i couldn't find relevant info on how to solve this problem. If you can, please help me on this.

have you tried forwarding ports or disableing/enabling DMZ?

make sure to disable any firewalls

Hi guys,

Thanks for helping me. First of all, i use dhcp on the router, to assing my ips. I have only 2 computers. To use the DMZ, first i assigned a static ip, to the comp that i want to ftp with, and entered its ip in the DMZ, but that didn't work, then i changed to "get ip automaticly", but this way i don't know which ip i should enter in the DMZ area. However when i used static ip, and put it in the dmz, it didn't work.
About the other solution, forwardin ports, i've read about this, but i didn't find it very clear. Authkey, can you please give me more details on how to do that ?

P.S. AxFactor, if i put the net cable directly in the comp where i use ftp, and assing the ip from my isp, i can ftp files to servers, so i don't think that disabling firewall would help. Do you mean disabling the firewall of the router (does it have one) ? If so, then please tell me how should i do that, so ftp will work ?

Hi, leave the firewall in place. You dont need DMZ. Enable firewall on router.

Log into router default 192.168.123.254

go to Forwarding Rules Tab

Enter the port #(usually 21 for FTP)

Enter the FTP server address

Enable Forwarding on Virtual Server

If DHCP enabled, set lease time to indefinite or the longest time. You can also assign static addresses...

You should be good to go.............

Hi,

"Enter the FTP server address" <-This is ambigous. The router lets me add only the last 3 digits of the ip, ex: 192.168.123.blank
I want to upload files to different servers. I connect to them using the domain-name, or ip address of the server (with cuteftp pro).
I've tried to enter at virtual server both ips (i have 2 comps), both using the 21 port, and the enable feature checked.

I've set cuteftp to upload using passive mode, then port mode but nothing worked. If you know what i should do, to make it work, please tell me.
