My friend told me that it is possible to buy an adapter of some sort for a regular TV and it becomes a HD compatible TV. It souds kinda far fetched to me but if it is real, I want in!
Has anybody else heard about this?

Big Thanks To Jamaal10!

There are high definition video scalers/processors than can convert a standard definition 480i signal to 1080i or 1080p - whatever your display accepts.

So by hooking these up to my regular TV, I will be able to play my Xbox360 in HD? If so, does it look as good or is it not as good as the real thing?

For 2000$, I'd just buy an Actual HDTV. For 2 grand, you can get a decent HDTV, maybe 32", you can even get a 42" for that price, not necesarily Sharp or Sony, but still. I wouldn't go for the iScan, there's not much of a point...
And, yes you can play ur x360 in HD. But i still see no point...

Sorry I misunderstood. You can NEVER get a regular TV to display high def 720p or 1080i/p. The maximum video mode for a regular TV is 480i. There may be adapters out there that will downconvert a high def 720p or 1080i signal to standard def 480i so it can be displayed on a regular TV. A 480i TV can never be as good as a high def 720p or 1080i/p. The DVDO I Scan is meant to be connected to a high definition display and not a regular TV.

I think your friend is confused. The device he is most likely talking about is for making regular TV's compatable with a HDTV signal.(cable box) Meaning.. When TV goes totally digital and you dont have a digital HDTV. You can get a "box" to convert the high definition signal to something your analog tv can accept and display. So you can use your old TV. Your standard TV will never be able to display a true HDTV signal.
