i have gotten far into modding my xbox 360. im not trying to back up my firmware. this is the tutorial im using. http://www.clevermod.com/index.php?article=16

when it says power on your xbox then power on your computer with the bootable floppy in the floppydrive. i did that and it worked. booted up fine with the boot disk. then when i typed in mtkflash r backup.bin it brang me to some options to choose from. there was Primary IDE cable and Secondary IDE cable, but there was no SATA master. what am i doing wrong.

i went into the cmos and changed the SATA interface to enabled. but it still didnt work.

please help i dont want my xbox 360 just sitting here collecting dust. i want to finish it asap.

thanks

i am having a similiar problem. my dvd drive is not being detected. my normal dvd drive inside my pc is being detected instead of my xbox.

how do i get my xbox drive to be detected? and if it already is what is it called on my computer?

it shows as unknown device

is there anything i am doing wrong?

i have 2 sata ports on my motherboard, one for my HDD and one for my xbox drive

if figured out the problem buy im not sure how it did it. i just messed with the bios. but on mine it shows up as NF geforce master or something like that. i have read that some other peoples show up as ICH5 master or something. but i just went into the bios and reset the defaults and then i enabled SATA in the advanced>chipset>onboard devices> SATA then it worked for me

hope it helps

Yes^^ another thing is go to chipset options and if the option is there change the SATA mode from RAID to IDE. if the option is there. Some boards as default will be RAID and not a single drive.
