Hi, I bought a game called Digital Devil Saga 2, and I backed it up to a TYG02(Premium) to preserve the original, but unlike my other backups using the same discs and the same burning speed(4x) I can't get it to play the opening cinematic without skipping uncontrollably. I've tried other spindles of TYG02, and the game still skips. These all benchmark prefectly to 16x on my Benq 1650 and have 99% Quality Scores... Now, I understand my PS2 is old, it's a Ver. 1, and I do get DRE's every once in a while, but if I can get the game to load it usually plays fine. Do you think it's just the laser or is there something genuinely wrong with my discs? I've been looking to get a premodded V14 w/ a DMS4 Pro SE since Swap Magic is just a pain in the arse, and for a week's wage it isn't too pricy, but I'd just like to see if you guys think my laser is causing this or the discs? If it's the laser, I'll just go ahead and get the new V14.

Note: The original DOESN'T skp. Backups of other games play perfectly.
