Is a Mod Chip really necessary to run a CDR with the system and snes_emu.elf files on it with more than 10 snes roms on it that has been burnt in a .bin file?
If not, is there a way to get past it?
I've tried the "knife swap" trick already. it didnt work for me >.<
Tutorial would be nice, thank you

the only way to run the snes on the ps2 to have a modchip or swap magic to boot up the snes.
here the guide for burning it on a cd-r
here the list you need to have:
*Nero burning rom software
*the emulator call snes v2.3
ok frist make a folder call roms and place all your snes roms into that folder and put them in A-Z click left mouse to arrange icons by name.
Second open the Nero burning rom software and setup the setting like this
on the left side choose.
*CD-Rom(UDF/ISO)
*ISO
File name length:Max of 31 chars(ISO level 2)
Formant:Mode 2/XA
Character set: ISO9660 (standing ISO Cd-rom)
*Burn
make the speed at least 4x or 8x the most when your done click New
ok it time to drag the files you need here the list you should have on the left side
*Roms (the folder you made to place the roms in)
*Install
*System
*Snes_Emu.elf
onece you place them just burn it and use the sm 3.6 cd ver.
or modchip to boot up

Is SNES V 2.3 any better that SNES Station, cause half the games on SNES Station run at like 25 fps and are almost unbearable to play.

snes ver. 2.3 is snes station but compatibility and speed are not yet 100% so most games have some problems with speed and sound

Little off topic, but can some1 PLEASE tell me the proper way to get MAME running, all the roms I put on the disk fail to load. MAME itself loads(using SM 3.6), but none of the roms do. Do the current ps2 MAME emulators only support old games, or is it possible to get games such as Marvel vs. Capcom to boot on the PS2, because I have had absolutely no luck. Thx for helping:)

i have never had any problems with the snes station, and on a recent u****d to a torrent site,i had members complaining about the same problems that are mentioned above (slow running/sound problems)
and on testing the roms they mentioned, they played perfectly
if you use cheap disks,or have a old ps2,or a ps2 that dont like cd's much, these are the problems you wil get.
for me anyways the snes build i have runs smoothly
if you could post the games that dont work for you,i will test them and report back
i also have other emu's (spectrum 48k/C64/sega genesis/sega master system
i believe the snes emu has a ntsc/pal selector???,maybe you should try that?
as for the mame emu, thats is hit and miss
some games will boot, some wont, and thats after you have figured out which games dont interfere with the fixed lba table #
good luck :D

those 2 games are running @ about 25 fps,i have a PAL tv,and dont forget most of these game are PAL.my tv supports both ntsc/pal thus settings on the emu is on auto
if i had to pick one thing out tho,the odd word is repeated on voice over, but thats it :)
i must admit,i havent tested all the roms i have,as i dont have much time to play games much,so i can only go on experience.
so other than that,i dont know what to say...:D

Hello, I think I understand how burning the files from pc to cd but my question is how on earth do you get the snes and or nes games onto your pc? Cause I've got loads or snes and nes cartridges and I would love to back them up. But am I missing something? How do you back up a big @ss snes and or nes cartridge to go from the game cartridge to the pc? How do those connect? Please I?d love to know! And also does it matter whether it's burnt onto a cd-r or DVD+R or dvd+rDL?

Wow theres a swap magic 3.8??
I just wanted to add Swap magic is for booting PS2 games I dont think it will work when booting your ROMS, You need an old version of gameshark for PS1 etc.
There are better guides on SNES emu's around here some where.
PS. Just wanted to let you know you can also play Roms on you PC its a lot easier.
