Heya there everyone. I do a lot of consulting type work for several non-profit organizations dealing w/ the public at large and children and families. I'm working on putting together a series of classes for parents to keep up with their kids online activities.

Basically, what I'd like to know from you guys, is what free, or opensource software you use or WOULD use if you had the need to. I enjoy digging around sourceforge, looking for new applications, but there's so many, I thought I'd ask for suggestions.

I'm really open for anything, trying to get parents interested in computers and software as well as keep their kids safe.

Anything goes...mail programs, firewalls, antiviruses, keyloggers, antispyware, filters, entertainment, general amusement, just plain neato, crypto, whatever.

Of course I have my own favorites, but I'd really like to see what anyone has to suggest! Oh, and the free/opensource is because I <3 opensource, as well as the fact that most of these parents are working with very limited incomes.
