If I run anydvd or dvd43 while ripping with decrypter in iso mode to keep the layer switch, and then burn either with imgburn or decrypter, I constantly run into problems with stuttering, digital artifacts or, most commonly, blank or disfigured menus on the finished disc. Without these two programs, I can only hope to get through older or minor releases, and if I rip with dvdfabdecrypter then the disc won't fully burn, saying that the layer switch info is missing. With such unreliable results my dual layer burner is becoming obsolete. I'm flushing money down the drain experimenting with dvd+r's at current prices and have had similar results with verbatim and ridata discs. Do any of you know any better methods to backup onto dual-layer?

Hi holio, you can only use either AnyDVD or DVD43 if you have both on your system at the same time you will get conflicts. You must completely un-install DVD43 otherwise you will get the results you are getting now.

Anydvd is the best programe to use, the current version is 5.9.6.1 you can get it from here http://www.slysoft.com/en/download.html

DVDFab decrypter is also great here is a great guide by Alkohol on how to use it http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/334154

When using AnyDVD with DVDD, is your DVDD set-up correctly? This is the proper set up according to very helpful member aabbccdd:

using AnyDVD with DVD Decrypter set it up this way....


To use DVD Decrypter in conjunction with AnyDVD as stated per Olli ->OF SLYSOFT AND CloneDVD

Proceed to the DVD Decrypter Opening Page - Tools - Settings

I/O Tab - Click on "Elby CDIO-Elaborate Bytes"

General Tab - un-check "Check For Structure Protection"

Thanks pazzini, I ran into that conflict during my AnyDVD trial a while back, but I guess it slipped my mind. I've never configured decrypter properly for AnyDVD though ebega, so thank you too, I guess both issues may be causing me trouble. I've corrected both and will try again.
