I got the tape and tissue mod to work only problem is the duct tape I used to hole the switch down on the inside didnt stick very good and didnt hold the switch down for very long. I figure I can switch to electrical tape but the duct tape left a goopy residue on the switch and a little part of the base beneath it. Will that residue cause any problems? I dont know anything about circuitry and motherboards etc.

you could try gently scraping it off w/ a exacto knife or something, i'm not sure since i don't have a slim, but if it's left there i can't see it being much of a problem besides making the next tape you use have problems sticking.

even w/ swapmagic he'd still need a ghost switch. and from what i'm understanding about the tape and tissue mod is it's just holding the little switch that tells the ps2 the top opened, so he'd still need to purchase a ghost switch.

Right, I have the magic keys set, and I know there were alot of issues with the third piece fitting into v14 slimlines. I got the piece to work but my ps2 wouldnt close so i decided to forget the warranty and just tape down the inside switch.
