I have the newest version of DVDfab decrypter 2.9.7.9. It rips the full movie because i see that the file size is over 7 gigs when its done. The problem is when i try to shrink it using DVD shrink or clonedvd2 it only shrinks the previews. Its like the rest of the movie isnt there but it yet its over 7 gigs when i look at the video_TS file. I backup movies all the time but this one i need some help with. Any help will greatly be appreciated. Thank you.

If you have CloneDVD do you also have AnyDVD? Best combo.
If not run those files thru vobblanker (free) than process as usual thru Shrink or CloneDVD.
Here's a guide:

Freedomland has both Widescreen and Fullscreen versions on the disc so to make it easier run it through fab after being decrypted and blank either the widescreen version or the fullscreen version and that way you can have all the previews and special features.That is what I did and I got everything I wanted.

well, John I too took your advice and it still doesn't work. What I have found out about ripping this dvd is that it has Settec Alpha-dvd protection on it. That is why it is not ripping with the usual software. I have tried using the AnyDVD, and it only gets me through half the dvd and then error messages begin to pop-up. Are there any other apps that I can try other than the ones mentioned already in this forum?

@vls2a
I used AnyDVD and CloneDVD- not a problem. I did widescreen version and menu only. No special features on this one to speak of.
Yes it is Sony's ARccOS w/ a bogus title set, 7 bad sectors etc.
Are you using the latest AnyDVD - 5.9.6.2?

Okay here's some other suggestions:
Use CloneDVD - AnyDVD works best w/ this program. Free 21 day trial.
http://slysoft.com Nothing this combo can't handle right now.

Or try the ripper with AnyDVD then open those files in Shrink.
What over programs/combos have you tried?

I gave Mama a nice Sony wide screen with stand cost me over 1800.00 on sale last year! she loves it but she is all thumb when it comes to satilite channel changing and she doesn't like switching video chanels to get to the DVD player! LOL I had to write it down and have pictures of what buttons to push! She's 85 and she reads really good so she does make the switch from sat to DVD player and back again...... but one time she lost the tutoral that I made for her and she didn't have TV for a day, which pissed her off! She couldn't get back from dvd player to satilite! LOL now I have her tutorial in plastic covered sheets and made it poster sized! LOL no problem! I'm just a good son!
