DVDrip.Xvid files won't play for me

I have files that say DVDrip.xvid at the end of them. These are however just folders that contain CD 1 and CD 2 of a ripped dvd. Inside of the CD folders are files that end in ".r" and are followed by a number. I have quicktime and Divx. I am running off of OSX. I have downloaded Xvid and Divx codecs (not really understanding the difference between the two) and these files sill won't play. Any help here would be appreciated.

it sounds like those files are zipped with win rar. you will need to unzip them first before you can play the movie.
