hi i was wondering if there is anyone that has completed burning a backup of a game with wxripper. if you have i was wondering if you have to merge the security sector when you do the wxripper method. if you do then what is the point of doing the wxripper method because you still have to put the game in the xbox dvd drive and then hook it back up to the computer to get the security sector. so that is my question (do you have to merge the security sector file after you make the iso using the wxripper method?)

I think you are slightly confused.

The reason to do the wxripper is due to the fact you don't have to keep taking apart your box.

You HAVE to merge the SS into the .iso file you make during the wxripper method.

To do that you do not have to "put the game in the xbox dvd drive and then hook it back up to the computer to get the security sector." You can download the SS on certain websites:

http://www.ubclass.org/X360SS/

Once you do that, load up SS merger 1.5o, load the iso and load the .bin file, now click merge. This will create a .dvd file in the same dir as the .iso.

Now use DVDinfo to change your drive to dvd-rom:

"To set the booktype in DVDInfoPro:
Start DVDInfoPro
Click on the ?+RW? icon on the top row
Select DVD-ROM Press button marked "Change +RDL Mode"
Press Close
Now whenever a DVD+R DL is burned it will be bitset to read like a DVD-ROM.

BE AWARE: If you start Nero or similar that can also change the bitsetting, make sure Nero is set to "unmodified" or "current recorder setting", found in Recorder-> Choose Recorder then select the drive and click on "Options"

Use cloneCD to burn the .dvd file.
