I'm trying to make a backup of my Lilo and Stitch 2 - Stitch has a Glitch DVD (Region 1). I have tried everything I know: DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0, DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.7.9, PgcEdit ver 0.6.2 with PSL2 plugin, SmartRipper 2.4.1, FixVTS 1.24 (after ripping to HD with DVDFab, DVD Shrink, DVD Xcopy, & IFOEdit.

Does anyone have any advice for making a Backup of this DVD? Has anyone successfully done this -- if so, please let me know what you did (step by step).

This is the only movie I have ever not been able to make a backup of.

Thanks!

Sam

1. Rip it to Hard Disk using DVDFab Decrypter
2. Process through VobBlanker (http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm)
3. Reauthor with DVD Shrink
4. Burn with ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com)

Here's a link to a guide that will give you detailed steps:

You don't give any detailed info as to why your attempts are failing, so I can't tell you exactly what's going wrong. It's possible you have a bad original.

Good Luck!

waynekuse,

Thanks for your input. I have used DVDFab Decrypter, but hadn't thought of doing VobBlanker afterwards. Instead, I used Shrink and ran into an error. I will try your suggestion and let you know the results.

One strange thing though, DVDFab took extremely long to process this DVD. I'm talking about 10 hours or so. Have you ever had this happen? Most times I have used DVDFab, it is pretty fast (< 1 hour).

Thanks again,

Sam

get yourself a new copy of the DVD! I suspect that the source DVD was deffective for it to take 10hours!!!!!! Should only take about 15mins or so to rip to the hard drive! DVDFab should more than do the trick! but not 10 hours! Somethings wrong there, and it's the dvd! maybe this is the reason you're having problems in the first place!

@ssstewar

I have to agree with IHoe here. I wasn't aware that it was taking sooooo long to process through DVDFab Decrypter. It's never taken longer than about 15 minutes for me.

Sometimes VobBlanker is necessary and sometimes it isn't. Since it only takes 2-3 minutes to process, I err on the side of caution and do it all of the time. It usually always finds and fixes something, even if it isn't a show stopper.
