I have two connections that came with the card. One says COMP OUT, S-Vid out, S-vid in, Comp in..and the other one says has 5 colors on it green(Y) ,red (pr) ,blue(pb) yellow(Video) and there is a black one that says s-video.
I plugged 3 colors into my tv (red, yellow, white) and then 3 colors into my graphics card that had 5 colors on it. Two of the colors matched the red and the yellow. I am not sure where the white one goes, into the blue or the green? I just picked one.
After plugging my TV into my PC I got a message on my PC that said new hardware found. I installed the driver. Allright, so now when I click on my nvidia icon in the task bar I see geforce 7800gt display 1 analong and display 2 TV. I am not sure exactly how to watch the TV on my PC (if its set up right). I think I need some kind of software for my TV to show up on my PC?? If that is the case, can someone recommend any good software for this? If this is not the case, what else should/do I need? Thanks
all those coloured ports on your card are soley for video but the ports on your tv are different, on your TV yellow is for Video and the other Red and White are for audio,
what you need to do is get an S-Video lead to get the picture onto your TV and a Jack to Phono cable to link up the audio
id suggest getting one of these home theatre connecting kits
something like that, that will connect you up no problems

I am not trying to get anything on my TV. I am trying to get cable or digital cable or whatever so I can watch things on MY PC and record them. Basically im trying to figure out how to get TV to work on my PC system. I am assuming I need software for that. Do you know of any? Or what it would be called?
I really hope you didnt purchase this card in effort to capture video because it is not designed to do so. Good card for gaming but not for video caputer. What you need is a tv tuner card. I recommend you get the WinV PVR150 (with single tuner) or the PVR500 with dual tuners (watch one show and record another at the same time). Here's a link to the specs of the card:
Happauge makes the most popular cards so I suggest you get those. I currently use the pvr150 with sagetv software. It works great. I have built my own HTPC DVR (Home Theatre PC / Digital Video Recorder) so if you need any more help, just holler.
I purchased the card strictly for pc games. I always wanted to get TV on my pc. I did get a card but it records in MPEG 2 quality. The quality comes out ok however, I have another question for you. I bought the same card you have with Beyond TV software which works great.
My 2nd question is this. I want the better quality. I currently have Basic extended cable. If I got this card

I know you can record right to DIVX. I was just wondering if you can get the HDTV quality from my cable network if I have this card.
WIth this card you will get much better video quality from the HD stations. But if the regular cable stations aren't shown in High Definition, there is little the card will do. My pvr150 works great with both regular cable and high definition. Make sure you are using quality cables to make your connections. I like monster cables.
to get hd quality recording on a pc you need a HDTV card like the ati HDTV wonder, also unless you have a monster machine don't expect to record in hd quality, I am talkin probably atleast a p4 2.8 or equiv with atleast 1.5 gigs of ram, and don't even imagine you will be doing anything else during the recording process
