MY DVD Burns seems to fail more then they suceeed.

Can any help me figure out why?

I'm tyring to back up My Greatest American Hero series DVD's yet they constantly fail when copying them. Only why to get them to burn is by re-authoring them. (Coping just the episodes and not the menus and extras) Even after doing that the disks do not finalize. Yet I am able to play them in my DVD player.

I am using DVDDecrypter (Have tried DVDFabDecrypter as well) with DVD Shrink. Nero Burning Rom is my burning software. I use Sony
DVD-R's (Tried Maxell).

However I was able to back my copy of Hoodwinked without any problem.

I also have a simaler problem when Data Discs. It seems if I try to fill the entire disk (all 4+ gigs) the burn fails.

I have tried cleaning the drive using Scotch's DVD Player Maintenance Kit

Any thoughts or suggestions anyone?

with episode disks I would use DVDDecrypter in FILE mode and copy the whole disk.... then I would edit out everything that I don't want in DVDRemake Pro (warning screens, unwanted extras, etc) but I would keep the menu for the episode sellection! Then I would use DVDRebuilder Pro/CCE in full disk backup (remember I already edited out everything that I didn't want with Remake!). This way the DVD structure is intacted and you'll be able to navigate the menu for each individual episodes! Then I use CopyToDVD to burn or I will set DVDRebuilder to ISO output and automatically burn with IMGBurn! easily done with excellant qaulity! perfect every time!

well I've done NYPD Blue (seasons 1-3), ER (seasons 1-3), Doogie Howser (season 1), the O.C. (season 1 & 2), Desperate House Wifes (season 1), Lost (season 1), 3rd Rock from the Sun (seasons 1-4), House (season 1), Roots, Shogun all done the same way I stated above with much success!

Well I would try your suggesstions, but seeing how DVDRemake Pro is not free download, I won't be able to. Can't afford the $50 right now to purchase.

then you can use this free program: Voblanker. I hardly use it but it will take out unwanted things (warning screens, etc) from your DVD once you rip to the hard drive! try that instead of DVDRemaker Pro!

Actually tried using VOblanker on Season 2 disk 6. I recieved an error message when clicking on process. Think it was "expected end of Vob" or something like that.

What I was able to do was re-author season 3 disk 1 and split it to 2 disks. 2 episodes on each disk. No errors.

This lends me to believe that there is an issue with my software/ dvd burner trying to burn DVD disksto there full capitity. Since burning data disks that are full produce a error as well .

I have tried using other brands of blank disks.
