Hello,
I'm having problems connecting my headphones next to the cd/dvd rom. Let me expand, some cd/dvd roms come with headphone plugs where you can plug your headphones in for audio. My sound is working fine when I plug my headphones in the back of the computer, but I'm not getting any sound when I plug my headphones into the front by the cd/dvd rom. And no the front headphone plus is not attached to the case but is on the cd/dvd rom. There is even a volume control, but all I hear is static which ever way I turn it to. As I said before plugging my headphones in from the back works fine, but I need to use my headphones from the front as I have speakers set up on the back. Hope I can get some help soon! Audio driver is VIA AC'97 Audio Controller (WDM)

why not plug the headphones into the speakers or computer back as you have an internal problem in the drive that can't be fixed except by a new rom drive. the driver is only for windows to use the onboard sound of the motherboard & not the rom drive.
