what is the process that u are using 2 make ur backups (what programs are u using, what speed are u burning at...)? What kind of burner do u have? Do u have a chip, use Swap Magic, etc? There can be many factors that can cause this, need more info to help you out.

ok sorry about that...I'm using swap magic 3.8 coder, I have a Toshiba ODD-DVD SD-R6252, I burn with DVD Decrypter at 2.5x speed, and I'm using Sony and Taiyo Yuden DVD+R's. They both seem to not play my games without skipping or freezing.

it could be that ur ps2 doesnt like the +r discs, ive got a slim ps2 with swap magic and mine wont even read +r discs at all, if u have a -r disc try that out

4X will give u the best results, as and previously satated, some ps2s dont like DVD+Rs. You are using good media, so that is not the probelm. Try bruning 4x, and if that doesnt work, pick up some DVD-Rs

I think the problem is not how ur burning ur backups, but rather ur ps2 doesnt like DVD+Rs. My buddy was in the same situation, +Rs wouldnt boot, bought some -Rs, used the same method to create a backup, and booted flawlessly. Try buying a small quantity of -Rs and see how they work for u:)

see if your burner can booktype the DVD+R to DVD-Rom
that will solve the problem with skipping and stuff
also see if there is any updated firmware on the net for your burner which will also help you out.
Your V14 should play both +R and -R, i usually stick to -R myself

Dont worry about booktyping, most burners dont support it, but it is a great feature if it is supported. ya, the best thing to do is try a few different kinds of dvd's find the one that works the best, and stick with it.
