I bought Age of Empires: Gold Edition (Age of Empires and Rise of Rome: Expansion) made by Xplosiv.
It installs and runs perfect and the music plays fine but everytime the next song loads during gameplay, it freezes for a sec as if loading the song.
It can't be my computer as I have 3.0Ghz Pentium 4, 2GB Ram and 200GB Harddrive. I am assuming this is enough to run such an old game? lol
I've checked the readme file, but it says for sound problems visit the DirectX website, then when you get on the website there is nothing!
I was hoping a pro computer veteran might be able to sort this problem out.
Cheers

Have you installed the latest patches for the game?
That would be my best guess as I don't play the game myself.

All four games are equally outstanding, Ensemble has my vote for best PC game series.

Ive got a copy of AOE III but havent had a chance to play it - I get the feeling it will not be as good as AOE II, seeing as Conqueror's was already so good - any opinions?

It's a good game, I enjoy it, The graphics are way above what you have come to expect from previous editions, gameplay is better. I like it, but still enjoy the Conq expansion pack.

When buildings blow up in that game it looks crazy real. The AI sucks in the game tho. You need to play online to have fun with it. The single player mode is nice just not the custom.

What?! which AOE are you talking about? I dont remember any of the buildings looking realistic when they blew up! But agreed, AI is shocking, only online gaming is fun, especially when you try out scenarios! But in any case, playing any game on your own is pretty sad.

Don't see the sad part of playing offline against the computer, spend all day dealing with people and sometimes want to get into caveman mode and hibernate, and kill off a few pixelated civilizations.

Ugh! rise of nations is sooo rubbish! I dont know why but i just really hate it. Has anyone tried World War III Black Gold, or Ground control? I know they are really cheap now, but they are immensely better than games like rise of nations - perhaps even better than C&C generals!
We are sort of straying off topic - does that matter?
