I have a downloaded an iso of Marvel vs Capcom 2 and burned it onto a Maxell brand CD-Rom. First, I burned it using max write speed, and inserted in the PS2 using the Swap Magic trick (3.6). The game didn't load and just froze at the black screen.

The second time I burned it, I adjusted the write speed to x4, thinking it would make a difference, but resulted in another coaster.

The program I used to burn the game is ImgBurn. Should I use other programs instead like Alcohol 120%?

Also, Marvel vs Capcom 2 is listed under the list of cdloader patch list, but since I have the version 3.6, I shouldn't need to do this, right?

Can someone direct me into the right way of burning this?

Try a different brand disc.

Argh, I used Alcohol 120% to burn it again, but with no success. I thought Maxell was a pretty good media, but that maybe just for DVD's.

But then, there could actually be problems with my Swap Magic CD, because I tried running the original copy of NBA Street: Vol. 1, which is in CD-R format, but it read it as non valid disk. Maybe, this is because of the blue layer bottom?

Oh well, I will try a different brand.

Can't find any other brands... I might have to convert it to DVD... What a hassle.

Just a thought, does your PS2 load other CD based games? It might be a laser problem as well... try cleaning your laser lens and see if that helps

It reads other DVD's fine, so I doubt it is the laser. Does the laser function differently with CD's and DVD's or something?

Also, isn't the Swap Magic CD in CD-R format?

Hmm, in that case you may want to try the fix and see if that helps. Since it uses CDLoader you can just burn it onto a CD-R and swap in between swap magic and your game. Guess its worth a try since if you burn another one chances are you'll probably end up with another Coaster, might as well use that CD-R on CDLoader :)

Ok, so I got the cdloader booted, tried all three of my coasters, pressed X like it told me to, but same result, cold blank black screen. There goes four CD's wasted :)

I guess converting to DVD format is the only way left.

I doubt it's the file that's invalid... or could it be? It will lead me to believe that if even the DVD copy of it fails.
