I have been trying to back up a few of my games. I have only gotten one to work. The way i do it is that i get the game to my PC and then use ISO Maker, and then burn it with Alchohol 120% to a DVD+rw. If the back up works, then a re-burn it to DVD+r and erase the DVD+rw. I was only able to get get one game to successfully work with the DVD+rw. After i tried backing up other games, i went back to the one that i was successful with, and can't even get that to work on the DVD+rw. Could it possibly be that my Xbox no longer likes this disc? Or what am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance!

i have the same problem. i have been trying to backup my halo game because my son has gotten a hold of it and scratched it all up. when i back it up, it plays fine up to a certain point, then it tells me that my disk is scratched or something, even when the files are stored on my xbox hard drive. as far as backing up those games, i use nero 5.5.9, which ftp client do you use, i use flashfxp be sure that your transfers are not in passive mode, and that you are allowed to view hidden files. hope that helps.

I use Nero and FlashFTP, i tried to back up Red Faction II to the dvd+rw disc, and it didn't work, but when i put it on the Xbox harddrive, it did work. So i have no idea what the problem is. The games that don't work, don't even boot up, they just go to the Evox screen like nothing was in the drive.

be sure you are burning at lowest speeds, not running any apps during the meantime. try using simplexiso, i have had trouble making images with xiso.

ISO Maker worked with my first game, so i don't think it is the program.

I am having almost the exact same problem. I got my fist disk to work, a DVD-RW and then I burned to DVD-R. Now the DVD-R just quit working, I tried to burn again and now I either get the Evox screen or an error saying the disk may be damaged or dirty. Hvae you been able to fix it or are you still having problems? Thanks!

I have tried using SimpleX ISO rather than XISO, Easy CD Creator to burn and I still have had no luck. I also tried burning on better DVD-R, so I used a Ritek and it didn't work. I did notice that the game files are on the DVD and I can transfer them to the PC, but the game won't load or play. Is there something missing to get the game to play? I checked and all my XISO's and they have the default.xbe, isn't that what makes the games load?

I have also tried cleaning the laser with alcohol and still no luck. Does anyone know if adjusting the POT's on the back of the laser will help? I found a place on xbox-scene.com that says you can do that if you are having trouble, but I don't know which one to turn or which direction to turn it? Thanks.

Is there a place that has a good tutorial on how to use Craxtion? What type of DVD drive do you have? So you use Craxtion and you were able to play the DVD-R? What about the DVD-R game I burned that I know works but now doesn't? I tried to fix my drive by adjusting the POT's and I f**ked up my Xbox and now the DVD drive does not work. I am going to replace it, but if I get another Thompson drive won't I have the same problems?

go to tools/ xbe patcher/ then point it to the xbe. I'm pretty sure craxtion does this when it makes the iso, but i do it anyway.
