Hey check out the latest news link to blasteroids.com, where it is stated gamers will also be able to download Genesis titles to the Wii! I grew up playing on Sega consoles so this has sealed the deal for me to but a Wii - I had no idea this was going to happen, is this old news or what? What do you guys think of the specs - after all the talk about Xbox 360 and PS3 going up to 1080p It amazes me that the Wii will only support 480P!

I think it is not really that cool. You can play all nes, snes, and genesis games right now on PC, Gamecube, Xbox with little work. The Wii is really pushing that feature as one of their top selling points but it is really not that exciting.

That's a little strange coming from someone who is so opposed to piracy...

Yeah what's your point?? You can't steal things that aren't sold anymore can you? My position on piracy hasn't changed.

Emulation is piracy. You're playing a game you didn't purchase.

I am not because I never said I was doing it. I was just stating the obvious. I know lots of people who plays these games on their PC's or consoles but those are the people I have a problem with. You see if someone plays "Super Tecmo Bowl" on their PC, how much money does Nintendo or Tecmo lose?? Not a cent. So who cares. Besides people that play the old school games probably owend them at one time or another in their lives. I don't think you would take the time to get a rom unless you had it back in the day and enjoyed it them

How much money does Nintendo or Tecmo make? Not a cent.
I do like your example of Tecmo, though. That game is awesome. :-)

I thought you did.

That's wild speculation that can't really be proven. I could say the opposite thing and it still could be true.

Oh sorry. I was under the impression that you were. My bad, TTclown.
edit** In conclusion, this is a much bigger deal to those who don't bother with emulation than those that do. Fair enough?

Fair enough.....But Super Tecmo is the game, man. That never gets old. If the Wii could release Super Tecmo Bowl as a download, the classic game with updated rosters..... I would become a Nintendo fanboy instantaneously!! haha

Get the playnow emulator it's free, spyware free. And it combines many old system into one tiny package! What cooler is that it's p2p and you don't have to search the net for roms.just click the one you want and It will download from peers. It's also self updating.
That's just for the pc though.Notice I mention piracy nowhere. This is an emulator.

The Virtual Console on the Wii is not only for playing old games, Iwata has said that Nintendo will be releasing a developer's package. Imagine new games coming out for your favorite old consoles!
mostly I see this as another way to support Nintendo.. donate around $2 and get a classic video game ^_^
I just hope they make Original Game Boy Games available.. that would kick ass
