Ok I have finally fallen for the bit torrents and I love it. Right now I am only using it for porn. I have download 4 files so far and 2 are absolutely great. I use the VLC player to play them and the just played.

The problem is that my last two downloads are both about 1.37gb each and are brokent into two files. Files for both are named CD1 and CD2. When I look into files each files have about 50 sub files that are each 14mb in size. When I click on the entire downloaded file to play, the VLC media player will go through a motion like it is about to play then a window will pop and say "AVI file is broken. would you like to fix this may take some time". When I click yes just a 2minute file which appears to be the very being of the movie will play.

That is it. nothing else will happen. Is this because the entire file is broken it many seperate pieces and need to be put together before file can play? If so how do I make entire file that I downloaded play and the burn onto disk?

I know I am newbie but I need some help.

You said it perfectly. Yes, the file has been broken into many different parts and you do need to put them together before you can play them. The best way to do this is to grab WinRaR. Its a program that uncompresses and puts your files back together. You'll be able to find it if you do a lil googling with the word torrent in there.... once you have it open the folder with the files and click the first one after the covers folder and sample folder (which from what I hear is the way most porno dls are set up..har har) anyway double click the first rar'd file and winrar will open. just click extract to...it'll be a button on the up at the top portion of the winrar window and it will extract the files to the the folder where you first double clicked... Enjoy!

Yeah.. the idea is that you just run the decompress on the first file and everything else takes care of itself. I'm not familiar with 7zip... but i'm sure the idea is the same.

ok... well I'm off to bed so I hope what follows will help..

If you did grab WinRAR and install it when you open the folder that you downloaded you should see a bunch of file icons that look like books stacked on each other. Double click.. or right click and chose extract to and click the destination folder. when you do that a lil progress box will pop up... wait for it... after its done you'll get another folder in the orginal box or the directory you specified... open that folder and in it you'll find the file nicely put together... its icon will be that of whatever media player you use... vlc is rad.. i've found that the one Nero supplys with its latest release is the one that works best for those movies.... not that I know but whatever I like naked chicks...anyway soo.... open it and enjoy ... other than that man... if it isn't workin you're doin something wrong or I'm an idiot... i doubt its the latter.... ha.. no just mess around with a few things if nothing works...you'll figure it out or someone else will stop by....either way i'm off to count some sheep...good luck :)

Ok did what you said. It was a bit confusing because I guess file had two portions and so when I extract the file it only made the first portion and I had to go in the folder to extract the second sub folder of that file.

Now it is working fine and I have 2 1/2 hours of video. Ok I have two questions now. The first is that it appears that I have extra files of the original download file.

I have the folder icon file that is 2.8gb in size. Then I have the WinRAR "stacked books" file that says 1.38 in size. Then I have the two VPL video icon files that are about 700 mb each. What files do I delete and with out taking the completed compressed file off my harddrive so I can make a copy on DVD-R and how do I assure that what files I deleted is completed deleted and there isn't any folders or files associated with the one I delete?

Second is how do I convert from a rar format to a format that I can burn on disk and view on my standalone dvd player?

Sorry Tom Melee maybe I am stupid but I click on the link under your sig and I don't see anything that says to download. It ask if I want to download but I am looking all over and I don' see where to download.

Plus what will this file help me with? Will it show me how to put rar files and burn them to DVD-R or +r disk and fuction properly in consumer dvd drives? Will it show me how to put more than 2 hours of video onto a disk or more than just two files that doesn't equal to 4 gb?
