I'm trying to setup my house for ultimate flexibility in audio and video playing in multiple rooms. My idea is to have a pc/server with a wifi router in my office, to connect an A/V wireless digital media player to my home theatre setup, and to connect a wireless audio receiver to listen to music on the patio. Has anyone tried to connect multiple wireless media receivers to a single pc? Specifically, using 2 or more different media receivers(i.e. 1 a&v, 1 audio only)? I don't intend to stream media to all these locations simultaneously (I'm not totally mad). If tried, any recommendations?

i also tried someting like this for since 2004.

you can build any pc, but you will end up to wake and play the file or the music each time.
if you even installed Microsoft Media Center 2005, it will most of the codec file( this will not let you play most of the movies)

my recommention is to get someting like Harddrive Multimedia Player see this product

1. 3.5" AVIX PORTABLE MEDIA/DIVX PLAYER
DivX-audio-video-player.html" class="korostus" target="_blank">http://www.cooldrives.com/mediagate-DivX-audio-video-player.html
i will recomment this because it playes alot of video formate and has alot of connection

2. DVP-570HD AVIX ABIGS MultiMedia Player ( i found it on ebay.com for arrount $160) here is a link to it
http://www.cooldrives.com/dvavabmupl.html
if you my emitty one with no harddrive in will be cheaper( try to get 320gb IDE)

3. MEDIAGATE MG-350HD
http://www.airlinktek.com/english/prod_mg350.htm
i have this but without the wirles
it is great and the, but do not recomment it you like to watch japanese animeation since it do not support some of the files

hope this help

or you can build i good pc , and have Microsoft Media Center 2005 install on the main harddrive ( i recommend small harddrive for the primarny, and big one for the secondary like 300gb ( 750 is now avalible)).

then use this remote to control the pc

skip media center, the DRM limitations suck, setup a good server with lots of hard drive space, make sure all your wireless devices are 54g, if not install a second nic into the computer for anything 11b

the reason is is because any time you use a wireless b on a 54g network it will slow down to the lowest common denominator (ie 11 megs a second instead of the full 54 megs)
