Whats a good burning speed for cd-r backups?

I read http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/240341 and the guy said that for newer burners it might not be better to burn at the slowest speeds... So I was wondering is the same is true for cd-r disc's and if so at what speeds should be best. And also does it matter about the copying speed? For either ps1's or ps2's cd-r's.

For CDs it doesn't really matter as much as DVDs. I usually just let it burn at full speed and doesn't give much trouble. It's the DVDs that you have to burn at a slower speed

So then burning them at like 4x or 8x doesn't matter and or hurt my chances in any way. And is the same true for ps1 or psx games/cd-r?

Yeah for a CD there's less chance of making a burn error compared to a DVD, that's why you can burn at a higher speed and not have problems :)
