OK, so i'm trying to back up gt4 with no luck!

I have been through the Sonix single layer back up guide and made a single layer gt4 disk.

When i put it in my modded ps2 it starts to load up, lets me choose the language and then select a save file, but then when i select 'start game' all i get is a blank screen (black)

I have had no back up problems until now, and my other backed up games still work fine.
Can anybody please help me out with this.

My ps2 is a SCPH 50003 with a Modbo v2.1 chip
My GT4 is Australian SCES 51719/P
Media used is Ritek 8x DVD-R

Any help will be greatly appreciated

OK, So i now have about eight new drinks coasters for my office desk!!

I have tried every gt4 back up tutorial / rip kit that i could find, and i still end up with a disk that loads up the first screen of writing and then i have a black screen!

Is this problem because i'm in Australia. Any other Aussies had the same problems?

So what are my next options? Could i just buy a d/l dvd and burn to that using Alcohol, or do i have to extract out the GT4VOL1 file first?

I hope someone can help me because my nephew wants to borrow the game from me soon. The disc is in mint condition and i know that when he returns it to me it will be scratched and full of small fingerprints!!!

Thanks

Where is the black screen? Is it at the polyphony logo thing?

It shouldn't be problem with your copy, because I'm in NZ and I have the same copy that you have, and it worked fine when I copied it... have you tried cleaning your laser lens?
