When i back up GOW the game boots up but my screan just keeps flikering and the game is in black and white can anybody help me with this problem

You are from a PAL region, right?? And you are playing with a NTSC version of the game, right?? The problem it is in your TV! Some European TVs can't support the NTSC format (60hz), older and small TVs usually support only PAL versions (50hz)! try to play the game in a bigger and recent TV, they usually support both versions (50hz and 60hz)...
Say something if it wasn't the problem!

You could also try to patch the game to make it PAL instead of NTSC (although I'm not a big fan of doing this)

Some modchips have functions to force convert the video signal, and swap magic also has that function too

swap magic can do that?? I dont think so... How can you do that with swap??...

When you load up swap magic, there's an option called "Video Mode", you can use that to force the game to a certain video mode. Apparently it has problem sometimes and crops part of the screen though. I never really bothered as my TV supports NTSC/PAL.

my TV supports both too... So I never have that problem with black & white image... But I dont knew that swap magic could do that.... =)
