I do A LOT of CD ripping using the highest error correction methods (into lossless APE). I also burn CDs and rip and burn DVDs once in a while. Can you please recommend me a drive that is:

1) Really fast CD ripper with EAC and has great C2 error correction quality
2) Burns quality CD and DVD
3) Supports DVD+RW and Dual Layer
4) Has Lightscribe

The price isn't an issue. If you think the only way I can get what I need is by buying two drives, it's ok.

I have read good things about Benq DW1655 but don't know if it's great and fast with EAC ripping. LiteOn SHM-165H6S was another drive I wanted until I found out that it rips only at about 3X with EAC. Please make some suggestions.

BEST QUALITY DVD BURNING (in order of function):
1) AnyDVD 5.4
2) DVD Decrypter
3) DVD Rebuilder 1.00RC60Pro
4) CCE SP
5) Nero 6.6 Ultra

follow the guide we have here for EAC. download and install the config files, they automatically setup your optical drive for optimum ripping quality. you can find the guide in my sig below.

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:

I already said that I am doing only lossless ripping. Worrying about quality ripping AND using crappy mp3 format is an oxymoron.
Though the guide did help by briefly mentioning that plextor has the best C2 error correction. Any particular Plextor model (I don't want the ultra). Will PX 230A be ok?

thats why I sent you to the guide...I can read. I didn't say anything about encoding to mp3. I said go to the guide, and install the config files...they will set up your drive properly. Any Plextor will work fine, they are king of optical drives.
