Hello. I am wondering if there are any sites that perform the service of flashing a DS Lite with FlashME? Can you recommend any? Thanks

Why not do it yourself?

If you do it yourself, you'll void your warantee. They'll know you did it b/c you have to remove a sticker inside the battery compartment. You also risk destroying it if something goes wrong. It's possible to be successful, but lots of people seem to have trouble doing it for some reason.

Why not just get a $20 passme type card and avoid the risk if you're not sure you want to try it? That won't void your warantee.

i have a ds lite, and really don't want to brick it. Prefer not the card because I don't want something else to break sticking out of it the M3 SD sticks out enough :), and I was under the impression that you need a passkey/card to install FlashME to begin with. I don't really want the card, so why not pay someone else to use theirs to flash mine? Thanks for responding.

@sh1970

Getting someone else to install FlashMe still voids your warrenty, and it is possible to remove to sticker and replace it without any damage.

And the risk of bricking it is very low, you just need some common sense when doing it.

And it's not lots of people with trouble, just the minority. It's just the miniority that you hear about becasue they post on fourms asking for help. How many times have you seen the title "Yay, I installed FlashMe"? It's just not worth posting about.

@darty17
You could buy a passcard, it dosn't stivk out, and is probably cheaper than getting someone else to do FlashMe for you.

If you do decide to do FlashMe yourself, I have a fool-proof method that will prevent you damaging your DS.

I see your point. Only people with problems post. That makes sense.

So what's the foolproof method???

Well, how do people brick there DS during FlashMe? They lose power to the DS during it, So this method basically relies on preventing anything that would casue the DS to lose power

So heres what you do to prevent it:
1: Connect the DS to a power supply.
2: Tape the FULLY CHARGED battery into the compartment to stop it falling out.
3: DON'T TURN OFF THE POWER!
4: The DS Lites seem to have something near the SL1 point which causes the DS to turn off while flashing if touched, what you do here is roll up a small piece of paper and put that in the hole, this acts as insulation to everything except the SL1 directly though the hole, you then use something small, but not too small to short SL1. I found using a toothpick wrapped in foil works well.

If you still somehow manage to lose power to your DS when doing everything above I would be very surprised.

I have used that method on about 12 DS's (incuding Lites) so far and they have all worked flawlessly.
