Is that even possible??? I have never heard of somebody converting a pc game to ps2 successfully.

are u trying to run linux on ur ps2 and then playing the pc game from there? if then i think i sorta answered ur question.
im not too sure but for the way im talking abt, u need to run linux on your ps2 and load the game through linux. it will be as if ur ps2 is a pc

even if you found a PC game that can install to linux the ps2 specs are so limited that i wouldnt run.
So its not possible to run a PC game on PS2 AT ALL.

wow lots of respones.
Ok well, the linux thing might work.
I wonder though why cant i just burn the program to CD and put in my ps2. the full program. i dont understand why that wouldnt work but w/e.
Now for linux, i would think that i would have to get a small linux. REALLY SMALL and install it on a comp then install stepmania and then somehow burn all the BACK to cd. then pop it in the ps2.
I think that would work. i just need to find a small linux OS.
IT WOULD BE AWESOMEEE IF THIS WORKED! :D HAHAHA

its a good theory but because the ps2 has such limited specs (something like 333mhz processor and 32mb RAM) it would barely be able to run the simplest of games.
And before you go looking for a small linux to try with, only the official linux and blackrhino linux work on the ps2, the official one was released a few years back with a 40gb HDD a net adaptor and keyboard/mouse these kits are very hard to find now. black rhino is freely downloadable but you need to get a one that says it is modified to include an RTE or something like that.
NOTE: these linuxs want install to pc, like pc linux wont install to ps2.

I know that the DOSBox emulator was ported to the Xbox, and it runs natively in Linux and Windows but I am not sure if it was ever compiled for the version of Linux in the PS2. DOSBox emulates a 386/486 complete with sound card for playing older DOS games. That's the only way I know of to get a PC game playing on a different platform such as the PS2 since the binaries aren't compatible. And as previously stated, the processor of the PS2 would be struggling to make even older DOS games run at full speed.
