Can you post some more info on your computer specs, also do you have any spyware (do a virus/spyware check) or are running any other applications while converting?

well your computer seems like it could go a little faster than 20fps. So i reccomend you try doing a disk defragment and see if that helps, but me with my Amd 3500+, 2gb of ram and sata hdd only get 40 fps and it tends to slow down /speed up a bit. There is also an option in the encoding part o that program where you can check
Fast / low quality
meium / medium quality
slow / good quality
or something like that so you can try playing around with these too.

thanks, i usually put high quality and slow encoding, How fast do you think my computer should go, cuz i'm really annoyed at how it starts 40 fps and goes down to 12fps sometimes.

to be honest, i have no idea how fast it should go on your computer, but i can suggest you Try updating to the latest version. if this doesent do it then maybe look at some other software like TMPGEnc. I have only used convertxtodvd once or twice so im no expert in it. i usually use winavi because it converts a whole movie in around 30min and i dont really care THAT much about quality.

I had the same problem today, it seems thats the way it works and there isn't really a way to fix it, it happens in all programs, try using mainconcep mpeg encoder, the only problem with that is it doent author the files you convert.
