Wring. AVSEQ01.DAT is part of a VCD image which can contain
2352*360,000 bytes = 846,720,000 bytes = 807 MB.
If you consider that making MPG --> cue/bin will need approx 10-11 MB of extra room, you fit an approx 797 MB mpeg in to a '700 MB CD' (which is a correct number only for data CD purposes (2048*360.000 bytes = about 703 MB). Otherwise, how could you fit 80' music (an uncompressed WAV file is about 10.1 MB per minute)?

The way to do:
- run VCDGear;
- remove all 'headers' from that DAT, which is NOT a 'true movie', selecting 'dat --> mpeg' from the [vcdgear] screen. You'll create a mpg about 2% less than AVSEQ01.DAT.
- select, in the [video-cd] screen 'mpeg --> cue/bin'. You'll create a cue/bjn image about 11 MB larger that the mpeg you just created.
- burn the cue/bin in a 80' CD-R It will fit perfectly, since the image wil be less than 846,720,000 bytes.

Your finally created cue/bin will be about 760 MB all will be well.

Ah, remember: all will work provided you extracted, from the VCDGear.zip package the following files and have put them in the \vcdgesr\cdi directoty:
Cdi_imag.rtf
Cdi_text.fnt
Cdi_vcd.app
Cdi_vcd.cfg
and you checked the 'Add CD-i application' box in the Video-CD screen of [options].

Otherwise, if you have it, you can use VCDEasy which automatically installs everything, supports chapters and makes all 'DAT-> MPG' stuff, under 'Tools' (and, until v1.1.5.2, was even free, if you manage to find it).

But wahy do you want to do that?

1) it's FALSE that an 80' CD-R can contain only 700 MB. If you butn a data CD yes, but if you burn a VCD it can contain almost 800 MB.
2) DAT files aren't movies, but an extracted part of a VCD image.

My suggestion:
1) convert to mpeg
2) cut mpeg --> movie_CD1.mpg and movie_CD2.mpg. Womble MPEG-VCR is very good, for this.
3) re-convert back to .DAT, if you really need to do that.

No application I know cuts .DAT files. Thousands cut mpegs.
