private torrent sites have good speeds but most dont have old stuff, u just need to look for torrents that have plenty of seed's.

yeah they are but not every1 can afford newsgroups, my isp has free newshostin but its crap nothin is ever complete, torrents are good if ya dont wanna pay anythin
first u need a good conection .second some good private sites .if the game is new it will have plenty of seeders .i usualy get mine in 2 to 3 hours . u ttorent is a good choice of a client
Utorrent is good, i personally like Azureus much better
and for torrents private site are surely faster than public.
But you will have to seed things or you will get banned.
I personally no longer trust Piratebay
After their raid you just don't know who could be monitoring them.
Hiya Steimy.. Azureus plugin..peer blocker, and a lot of the torrents on TPB come from other places anyway, like demonoid and others. Just check the details first and if it feels a bit too hot leave it alone. I must admit I haven't done a piratebay torrent since, but I still use it for links to other places, and to see what's about. I don't think it's so much the sites being monitored anymore as the ISP's doing the dirty work throttling the bandwidth because of the sheer amount of p2p traffic..
Peer blocker, regularly updated..and encryption on..that's my method these days, and I'm not so fussed about download speed. I normally throttle it so I get 1-1 as I'm gonna have to seed forever or get banned otherwise..and some of the places I belong to are really strict about ratios..stupidly so in some cases..what's the point of 170 seeds and 2 leechers?? just because everybody is desperate to keep a ratio of 2..A waste of the planets resources in the name of "free software/films/games"..If you leave a computer on for a week or 2 to seed some poor quality film you may as well pay to go to the cinema, and take your laptop and webcam.. Another "my 50 cents" moment there...
i have a 10 meg connection torrents are really fast no matter where i download from. i find that P2P like shareaza can take up to 1 month to get anything to download no matter what you speed is so i don't use it anymore. newsgroups downloads in like 30 minuites. try mininova they have a lof of stuff seeded there or torrent spy.
