Download a copy of dvdinfopro, select your dvd writer from those listed in the bottom left hand corner.
Now at the top of the screen their is an icon of a disc that has +rw written on it. click on it and it will allow you to set the bitseeting.
However if you have a pioneer drive it is already automatically set to dvdrom

download the newest firmware for your dvd drive, it will most likely support bitsetting

I changed the bit setting on my LG burner. The drive burned the games flawlessly. I just have two questions.

1. Will this interfere with the burning of movies?;

2. What was the original setting of the drive (so I can change it back if need be)?

You wont need to change it back and it wont interfere with your burning of movies, if anything it will make the discs you burn more compatible with older dvd players

I'm getting my 360 firmware upgraded as I speak. I need to buy a DL Burner though. I will be connecting it to my laptop via an external enclosure (USB). Will this cause me any "bitsetting" issues. I already have a philips dvd burner in it but it doesn't burn DL discs!

Any advice guys?

Also any uptodate guides on burning the 360 discs....do we still need to open the DVD Drive to swap discs etc?

thanks

Barry
