Its pre pay at this point. If the prices are later announced at a lower price, of course GameStop will refund any extra that ppl spent. This is common, I remember EBgames doin this when the ps2 was released.

EB and gamestop are one in the same now, so it makes sense what they are doing. im not 100% sure but when i preordered my last game it only cost me $5 down, so i doubt they would have to refund a lot of people considering most don't pay in full ahead of time, and i'd say all this is nothing more than a tentative outlook.

Yes, i know that......they used to be seperate entities....And i argee with u that its just a tentative outlook, they are just trying to snag a little bit of extra business b4 other retailers begin accepting pre pays on next gen consoles and games. Nothing wrong with that, actually pretty smart since their arnt too many others doing this yet.

I was up to Toys 'R' Us last night, they're letting people preorder the Wii for $50.. yet they have no idea how much it will cost, or when it will come out lol
Seems kinda odd that companies would be taking preorders for something that has no release date (except Q4 2006) or price

its not that strange as they know its gonne be be4 christmas so its just givin ppl a chance to secure thiers, and wen its released they will prob just pay the final amount.

toysrus preorders also help any particular location to determine how many Wii consoles will be shipped to it, and/or allocated from other locations that aren't so hot with the preorders.

HAHA speaking of Toys R' Us, i used to work there haha. I remember accepting prepays on the ps2 like 7 months b4 it was released. Like oofRome said, it helps managers figure out the expected demand for the system, and is a great strategy, especailly when many retailers wait till closer to the launch date b4 they offer prepay on the system.

Hell If i worked their I would just swipe one and the games lol.
But seriously the cool thing about working at a place like that is your gauranteed one on launch because you have knowledge of when they arrive and can get one before anyone else.Some place have policies against it though :(

Oh that sucks.Man 15% doesn't sound bad though.Hey 15% off of a ps3 would be some serious cash.But alot of em even have policies on the damn 15% lol you can only use it on certain things none of which are items like a ps3 or wii.

last time I paid $50 for a game was when I got RE4 almost 1.5 years ago. Ill just get Zelda and SSBB when it comes out and wait for the price too drop on the rest of the games.
