Works on PC, Vanish on standalone DVD player?

Recently I merge a subtitle file (.sup) with a video & audio stream with IfoEdit, creating a new DVD movie. I change the subtitle color, recreate a new 'VTS_01_0.IFO'..... (Common sense..)
I preview the DVD movie before burning, the subtitle display with no problem, works fine. After I burn it, it doesn't work on a standalone DVD player. It does not appear on the screen, even I've turn it on. I guess it does on, but somehow it just goes invisible or some sort.
I've been editing the .sup file with Subtitle Creator previously before I merge it. Would it be possible that some old DVD player doesn't read my font?
Anyone knows how to make it appear?
