Can i copy Action replay and run WITH modchip

Here's the picture: I can run game perfectly fine with mod chip and dont really need Action replay 2 (AR2 V2). BUT it's really handy because it lets me play slightly damaged discs and lets me play DVD+RWs. My AR2 V2 disc itself is now very old. Can i burn Swap magc or AR2 on CD-r and run it (because of the modchip) to boot DVD+Rws?

I tried burning Action replay MAX but my PS2 starts spining the disc like crazy if i put it in, probably some issue with the CD. I dont want to waste more CDs so asked here.

You can burn AR, I don't see why you want to burn swap magic though, as it won't do anything new for you if you already have a chip.

Also, just because it lets you read +rw discs, doesn't mean you should. rw discs wear out your ps2 laser very fast.

1) Thanks, just confused a ittle aobut what exactly Swap magic does..anyway. So with a modchip will AR actually work? i've never tried burning a CD-R. Will Action Replay MAX do the same as AR2? My AR CD's too scratched to make a copy, i managed to find AR MAX but not sure if its the real thing.

2) How can i check ISOs before i burn them? Tried using nsx2 and pcsx2 emulators but all i get is a black screen most of the time.

I only do this to test ISO first using a RW before i burn them onto DVD+R. This is the only way i know of testing the ISO, read point 2 above.

1) I have a burnt copy of action replay max and it works flawlessly for me
2)The emulators aren't developed to play PS2 games yet. I never bothered checking the image files, and never had a problem with them...

Great to hear. This is the one i have atm:
"PS2_action_replay_max_evo_april_2006_upgraded_PAL_NTSC" it's a BIN image..119MB...
Is this the same on you tried? (if not please let me know which one)

i'm worried because this is the emulation of the image i have using nsx2 :S


seemingly a fake..
and one know of a real image? it'd be much appreciated.

Like I said before, the emulators for PS2 aren't well developed enough. Just because it doesn't run on the emulator doesn't mean it won't on the PS2. The only way to find out if it works is by burning it onto a disc and try on your PS2
