im sure this has been asked alot but i did a search for "Toshiba backup", "Toshiba flash" etc. and nothing ...

i have the 360 TS drive and i dont know anything about connecting it to the pc and all so i was wondering if there was a web site or a thread im missing that can explain what i need and provide a walk through for making a backup ... i have the firmware for the TS drive already jus dunno how to use it ...

also after flashing, will this allow me to play a backup on the 360 with out having it connected to my PC? reason being - 85% of the 360's use will be at a family members house - she has kids ages 7-14 and they will be playing my games - wanted to bring backups so they wont ruin (anymore) originals ...

thanks if u can help me out ...

You have to connect it to your computer, once its done its done, and you can put your x360 back together. go to #fw on efnet and the tutorials and all the software you need are linked in the topic

flashing is a pretty straight forward thing. I really don't understand what is happening to society, we're suppose to be getting smarter and moving forward but then questions like this pop up! I mean come on people were flashing even BEFORE home computers were invented! Of course back then it was called STREAKING...and why would you want to even flash your drive? Flash your neighbor maybe but your drive??

oh wait a sec... were talking about two diff things here....n/m
pmsl

:P

lol @ the flashing ur neighbor thing ... im on parole so that wont be a good idea ... yet ;op

but like i said im sorry for such a newb question but this will be my first time flashing anything whatsoever ... it sounds easy and im fairly computer literate (i can install and remove cd/dvddrives, replace fans etc. in my pc tower) so i think i can pull this off ... i dont know much about dos ... never had to use it except to force delete a currupt file ... but as long as i know exactly what to type it should be no problem ... im gonna have to hit Radio Shack to get this seta cable thing ...

now i never hacked my orig. xbox - i always been a PS2 fanboy so i played backups on there and even that i used the swap magic discs ... this will be my first time actually reprogramming/flashing a game system (or anything) ... i made this thread jus to make sure i know exactly what im about to do and if it even is somethin i want to do ... so like u said - I myself will be getting smarter and moving forward, i might be behind the times to u guys but im light years ahead of nearly every1 i know ... i jus dont want to f'up and waste all that scratch i spent on my 360 :) ...

thanks again

Hey I was just messing around man.

It's not really a bad question at all, I just went overboard on my being funny (I do that sometimes and **SURPRISE** it gets me in trouble sometimes! lol).

I myself have had to search out how to flash a drive before as well. Generally the drive manufacture site should have the info and hopefully a flash utility for ya. Unfortunately I have no info about the game console hacks and flashing them drives, though I would presume a HDD is a HDD.

Anyways, this is what Afterdawn is all about people helping people! Hope it works out for ya! And if not there's plenty of people here who can help out!

Peace!
