if i have a dvd burner and using cdrwin v4.0a do you still have to install mod chip in my new ps2 to play games are is it impossible to just burn and copy and then play?

U must have a chip or use something like Swap Maigc to play backups.

Yeah there's no way around a modchip or swap magic, no matter what program you use. Personally I use DVD Decrypter and Alcohol 120% for all my ripping/burning, look in my sig. for a tutorial on how to use these programs.

Dan, ive never used Alcohol.....Is it as easy and dummy firendly as Decrypter?

ok thanks for that . now what is the best mod chip to buy that wont create problems when you go to play your back up copy. just to let you know i am capable of any type of install on any circiut boards.thanks for all your info.

DMSE 4 pro is the best chip from what i have heard, a lot of ppl praise it on the aD forums, especailly a certain aD addict *cough* Steimy LOL;)

@svtstang: there's a link in sig. on using Alcohol 120%, it's pretty easy, though not as easy as DVD Decrypter - but I use it for CDs, cos DVD Decrypter can only (as the name suggests) do DVDs.
Matrix Infinity is also a good chip :)

thx bro, i have never have run ito a cd game, so i have never ever considered it. BTW, DVD Decrypter is my best friend LOL. Will check that lnk out:)

The only thing I have on PS2 that's a CD is Marvel VS Capcom 2. But I used to do a lot of CD ripping/burning for PS1, and it's always been good for me :)

Do u remember a program called Golden Hawk? Thats what i used when i had my ps1. Cant beleive I gave my ps1 to my buddy, what an idiot lol

Heheh. I never owned a PS1, but my brother did. It's good the games can be played on the PC now, so I still play them every now and then
