I'm sorry I know it probally gets annoying to have people ask how to open ports over and over again, but for the life of me I just can't get it working. i've followed several guides with no luck. I'm using Azureus and a Linkys router. my average down/up speeds are 6kb/22kb. So if anyone has knowledge of my setup and problem, and would like to help me out for a few minutes I would be very thankful!
Have you downloaded the pdf from the first link in my sig? click it, press "free", then you have to enter in the stupid text from the captcha, but it's not hard, really, I promise.
Otherwise, in order to help you, we need:
1. model of router
2. ISP
3. port you want to forward
4. client (azureus, my fave, but perhaps not the best noob client.)
Hi! yeah I used that website awhile back and I still could't get it to work.. I think Im probally doing one small step wrong.. but my Router is WMP11 and my ISP is Sprint. I'm not for sure about the port, I guess it really doesn't matter but I was trying 6285 earlier.
Just a thought seeing your numbers..try cutting back on the upload speed. Reduce it to 11 first and then increase it in stages to find the sweet spot.. It may be saturating your connection and slowing the download.
Another thing, I have found, is your ip address. Portforward.com, as well as every other site on the web, shows mine as my ISP address (I guess) which isn't even close to my ip address. To find yours, go to command prompt: start>run and in the box that appears, type cmd and click ok>in the next box, type ipconfig and press enter. That will show your ip address. To exit, type exit and press enter or just close. Another important mention was to change the default port in Azureus, as most ISP's block it, to between 49,152-65,535 and gives instructions for doing so.
