I've been downloading Ps2 games from solops lately. I have been successful at getting them to work on my ps2 using swap magic 3.6. Here's what I did..

1. I download the rar files from solops using azuerus.
2. I unrar the first file using winzip.
3. An ISO file appears.
4. I drag the ISO file to my desktop.
5. I open dvd decrypter and select mode / read.
6. I select tools / Create DVD MDS File.
7. The MDS file appears on my desktop.
8. I put my blank DVD inside the DVD Drive.
9. I select mode / write with my DVD Decrypter.
10. I select the MDS file for the source.
11. The Destination is my DVD drive with the blank DVD.
12. I click write.
13. I try doing the swap magic method with my ps2.
14. I put the burnt game inside the ps2.
15. The game never boots up.

A few thoughts..

I did not see any Dummy files. I would assume these would be an issue with some games. Are Dummy files usually DAT files?

Other then this I can't figure out why this would not boot up.? Do i need an upgrade swap magic dvd ?

When I create games from original games that I rent I create the MDS file with Decrypter and burn the game with it and it works fine.

Thanks for any help.

Try this.
1. Open DVD Decryptor
2. Click Mode- ISO/Write
3. Search for your ISO file
4. Burn at half the rated speed of the media you are using. (8x at 4x, 16x at 8x)

You only need to rebuild games that have a TOC of higher than 4.35 GB since you're using Swap Magic 3.6

Edit - Oh yeah, you only get a MDS file from DVD Decryptor if you make the iso yourself (thats why you get one from the games you rent) It's really not needed but it tells the program how to find your iso file, ect...

PS2Menace, thanks for your message. My DVD's are 8x so I burnt the iso @ 4x and that worked!! :-) Now I understand when to rebuild games. Basically if I download a game that's over 4.35 GB then I should rebuild. Rented games I can just do the MDS / Decrypter method.

thanks again,

Any game you get over 4.35 GB you need to rebuild, store bought, rented or downloaded. I usually rebuild any game over 4.2 GB just to be on the safe side anyway.

look up Azureus or U-Torrent as clients
much better than what your using now and heavily supported by most of the good sites out there.
