getting windows to recognise xbox360 dvd drive

does anybody have any ideas how to get windows xp to recognise my xbox 360 toshiba drive?
i have flashed it with the xtrm0800 firmware and followed tutorials to the letter, but i get no joy with windows recognising it. I have SIS180 Raid chipset, that is set to ide in BIOS, but when i power up the pc, if the xbox is on at the same time, then it wont even boot past the POST.
any help would be appreciated

Did you patch the key into that firmware? Thats the only thing I could think of thats wrong.

well no because it says when you patch the xtrm0800 not to patch the key into it.should i try that do you think?
