Nero 7.0.8.2 Fails: "no more segments left"

So I have been having terrible problems with Nero7. Of course, I am working on a project that now has to be done in the next ~24 hours or I'll be in deep trouble.
I was getting the infamous "buffer overrun" errors while using the latest Nero7, identical mesages in the logfile that have been posted elsewhere on the Forum, with the suggestion to Clean, and install 7.0.8.2, which I just did.
Now when I attempt to transcode my project to disk, it gets through most of the project, but fails with "no more segments left". Any idea what this means? How can I work around it?
Below is what appears to be the relevant section of the logfile: the header and then the point of failure and end info.
Any help at this point would be hugely appreciated.

I do indeed have QuickTime installed on my system. Why do you ask?
As for installing the Adaptec drivers, this is something I am not eager to do, given that:
a) my disk drives appear to be functioning fine for every other app
b) seeing the comment from the guy who said he installed them and his BIOS now doesn't see his harddrive
c) I checked, and Wnaspi32.dll is indeed already in my Nero\Nero7\Core folder
Just curious, what exactly does "no more segments left" mean? Segments of what? If I just yank out this particular video file, or convert it to a different format before handing it to Nero, will that help?

I thought perhaps you did not have the correct codecs since I have seen some programs that state you must have Quicktime installed to use them. The Class not registered got my attention, but maybe it means something else.

Yes, that is interesting.
But in this case, the logfile is Just Plain Wrong.
I swear I wish I could see the source for this twisted beastie.
They're logging that message when any exception is thrown, irrelevant to the actual exception. Bet you anything!
The real problem is "no more segments left", that's where the error occurred.
Again, what are the conditions that cause "no more segments"? Segements of what? The source media? RAM? A wiggly worm?

There are other .MOV files in the same project, and they transcoded just fine.
I tried removing the "NHFree_SS_Card_Burn.mov" movie from the project and re-transcode -- it died with the same error message, in the same place. So Now I am going to try removing the preceeding asset (an MPEG-2) as well, just in case that was the source of the problem...

The size reported in the log is the same size as in the \Core folder.
The driver you're suggesting to download will just be placed in that folder? Or in my windows32 system folder? Have you seen this specific driver correct this specific ("no more segments") error before? Or is it just something you always want to see, when the driver version isn't printed?

As far as the ASPI situation, you should be able to run InfoTool and see if it is working. On mine the System ASPI isn't installed, but the Nero ASPI is "installed and working properly".

It's now re-transcoding with the offending .mov, and the preceeding .mpg, removed from the project. It'll take about 2 more hours to complete, and I need to get to sleep. If removing these two assets from the project allows me at least to have something to show for my efforts, I'll be mollified. If not... I'll not think about that. Either way I'll post in the morning and let you folks know how it turned out.

The System ASPI is blank, and that's fine by me -- because I do not have any SCSI devices! My DVD is an IDE drive (yes, and it's slow) and that drive WORKS FINE with every other app. Also, for the record, I have been getting errors while writing to my (SATA, Raid-1 on motherboard) harddisk, I am intentionally not writing to the DVD drive in this step, to reduce the number of variable in play. And no, no other app is having any problems with the hard drive.... it's only Nero that's gacking here :-|

Don't worry about ASPI Nero 7 uses System Aspi which is XP's SPTI and yours is fine

Since I do not use NVE very much, the only comment I can make is that there is a file that Nero is just not liking, I think it is more in line of a structural problem. Again, just my two cents :)
Edit: Also, when the new OS Windows Vista comes out Aspi will probably become obsolete. After trying the Beta version which numerous programs that we are using now do not work, IMHO Aspi will not work with this OS.

Well so far I have removed one file (the SS_card_burn.mov) and got the same error. I'm now re-burning with the file bfore that one also removed. I should know in ~45 minutes if that fixed it or not.

Update -- removing those two video clips (the MPEG and the MOV) -- resulted in a clean transcode, finally, thank goodness!! Whooeee!!
I've successfully made an ISO image and burned to disk, everything looks great. I can just barely meet my deadline now, albeit less two clips that should be on the disc (but that's a heck of a lot better than no disc at all)
In summary:
* from the logfile, the "no more segments left" seems to have happened while processing the MOV file (though there were other MOV files in the project and they went thru fine)
* removing the MOV file alone did not resolve the problem
* also removing the file immediately preceding it in the project (an MPEG) did in fact work-around the problem and I was able to transcode
For the heck of it, I am now trying one more trick. I exported the MPEG from within Nero to a file. I then added that file back into the project and am re-trying the transcode. If that works, I'll try the same trick with the MOV file.
Once again, I'll post the results here either way in the hope some other poor soul finds comfort.
