I've heard complaints on this forum about Xbox cycling due to the fact that you either moved or deleted some important dashboard file.
Well, the same thing happened to me today. I must admit I feel pretty stupid looking back at what I did. Well anyways, I was formatting all my disks to get some more extra space.(I assumed it was going to get rid of files that I didn't need) So when I was finished I rebooted my Xbox only to find a screen that asked me to install my backup dashboard that wasn't there and a flickering light. I can tell you straight up that I was scared of having to buy a whole new Xbox or get the current one repaired.

Long story short, here is what I did.
1)I downloaded the torrent found on this page http://www.aideluxe.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid...

(To download the torrent, search google for a program called Azureus)

2)After the download was done I used WinRAR to extract the files to my desktop.

(Again search google for winRAR)

3)There was a tutorial in the folder that I extracted that told me to use DVD Decrypter to write the ISO file on a Cd-r or DVD-R disc.

(DVD Decrypter was included in the download, and you should find it in one of the directories in the folder that you had extracted. As for the CD-R or DVD-R blank discs, you will have to purchase those yourself. I got them at my local Bestbuy store)

4)It may take up to 15 minutes for the program to write the iso file onto the disc so I recommend getting something to keep you occuppied.

5)Once it is done, put the CD or DVD into the Xbox. It may take awhile to load but don't worry it WILL load it. If it doesn't load, it is probably dirty, and all you need to do is wipe it off with a piece of cloth.

6)A menu should comeup that looks awfully fimiliar to the Installer that you used to get Softmods on to your Xbox.

7) Go to Install dashboards>E:/>softmod>EvolutionX

(MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL IT TO E:/!!!!!)

8)Then it should run its installation, and the next time you bootup your Xbox you will have the softmod dashboard.

(I'm not to sure how to get the original dashboard back. There is a download that is the newest dashboard on the disc but I have not tried it yet.)

I hope this helps to all you people who need it. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong with anything. I had to write this in 10 minutes and now I have to leave. I'll answer questions when I get back on Monday.
